a classic appropriation/retro/homage reference. i do this all the time, so i can’t complain. however, when i get to the ‘big time’ levels, i just plain don’t. when i’m working on punk rock telephone posters, the viewership/branding is so minimal that i can do this sort of thing. but, when it’s norah jones, you are just asking for trouble when you make a graphic ‘comment’ this close. my rule is: “if it makes you at all nervous, don’t do it.” perhaps it just takes a lot more experience to know to get nervous? just sayin’…
