How cheap is cheap. Its funny how when a craft company decides to make a “fine art” product that it ends up costing 40% less than the budget version of the fine art companies student grade supplies. DecoArt Student Acrylics is a new player and at a projected retail of $17-18 for a half gallon is value with a capital “V”. Pretty hard to beat. Its a bit apples and oranges, but the Daler-Rowney Graduate best purchase is a 1000 ml tub, which sells for the same price, as well as Chroma’s Chromacryl paint. Granted, the Graduate is slightly better, but for primary and most secondary schools, the Deco Art seems more than adequate, since the main concern is enough pigmentation, fast drying, non toxic, and easy clean-up.
It seems to be the same paint used in their “Social Artworking” program, but is slightly cheaper.
