brick by brick: waiting for the shovel ready

Anxious. Impatient. To build or not to build. To mourn or to rejoice. To cry and laugh simultaneously. It is said that  conquerors of ancient Israel could only capture the Temple in a physical sense; the Temple’s spiritual essence living eternally inside the heart of all Jews. It is also said that when the Third Temple will be rebuilt, it will not be destroyed and will surpass the first two. The Ark of the Covenant will also be taken out of where it is concealed and be restored to the Holy of Holies from its present place said to be in the bowels of the earth in an and around the Temple Mount, The Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. After all, if not confidence in Solomon then who?

So, the Third Temple will contain in it an integral and intrinsic part of the First and Second Temples. How it could it be known. The end of the book of Ezekiel describes the vision that he saw of the Third Temple whereby an angel gave him a “tour” celestial, while describing the architectural details of the Third Temple. The angel said,  “So says G-d your Lord: These are the laws of the altar, on the day that it is built.” But how will this arise, if not by man forcing the hand of god as groups like the Temple Institute insist. Poking in the ribs, provocation, goading into action or does it simply add to the delay? It was Maimonides that  ruled that only the Messiah could rebuild the Holy Temple which is difficult for some to reconcile with earlier rulings of the Jerusalem Talmud.

—Fleisher:So, too, is the Jewish nation: We have mourned for the last two millennia because we were forcibly dispossessed of our land, our capital was sacked, our Temple destroyed and it was as though our husband was murdered. But now with half the Jewish people in the land of Israel and Jerusalem standing in earthly beauty, we are engaged to be married and await the next stage of fulfillment. Our mourning now is the yearning for a final redemption – like a bride waiting for the wedding canopy, we impatiently await the completion of this great process. —Read More:http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4261108,00.html

…There is a famous parable of the Third Temple that cutely frames the desire to have, the irresponsibility that arose and the immaturity that is the bane of the “stiff-necked” still buckling under the complicity of “chosen” status. It is called the parable of the father; a father, well meaning, who had a very precious and high quality shirt sewn for his son, with the admonition to take care of it; of course the son did not heed the instruction, wore it to play and ripped and soiled it beyond repair. Tearfully, he went to his father and promised it would not happen again, to which the father perhaps against his better judgement went back to the tailor to to have him find the pattern and cut and sew a second to which the son, despite dutiful promises, and cross your hearts to the contrary, ripped and destroyed this one as well. This time Dad got a little wiser, made a third shirt but would not permit the kid to wear it or touch it. He only let him look at it at certain appointed times. He never said he would never be allowed to wear it; but only when he chose to conduct himself properly. The idea being that the inner child will only see the light so to speak, the understanding, based on the absence of the shirt; and until then only a glimpse and a vision of the future temple, albeit a fleeting and vague vision at best.

If someone happens to spot the Ark of the Covenant or catches sight of a pure red heifer please respond to the link below:

( see link at end)…They could start building tomorrow. There are 12 groups that are in preparation. They’ve chosen the location, a computer registry of 300,000 of the sons of Aaron (the Levites), many robes are prepared, over 150 sacred vessels have already been restored, including some of the most difficult and complicated projects, such as the Menorah and the precious stones of the High Priest’s breastplate. The architects are selected to rebuild with plans according to the bible. All but the ark of the covenant, which they believe is there. Also needed will be a pure red heifer….Read More:http://www.squidoo.com/templejerusalem

—On June 7th, 1967, Israeli Paratroopers liberated the Temple Mount. Although some religious leaders (including, initially, Rabbi Shlomo Goren) favored destroying the Dome of the Rock and building a Third Temple, this idea was never seriously considered. But short of that, what was to be done? There was a debate among the rabbis about how to deal with the prohibition against entering the Holy of Holies. Some proposed simply banning Jews from the entire area. But Rav Goren felt that Jews should be allowed to pray on at least specified parts of it, because otherwise Israel would lose its sovereignty there….But Defense Minister Moshe Dayan and Chief of Staff Yitzhak Rabin overruled him. The Temple Mount was placed under the control of the Jordanian waqf and the Western Wall was left for Jewish prayer. Later, Rabbi Goren tried to change the status quo, but many rabbis opposed him as did most of the political echelon. The Temple Mount in effect remained under Muslim control despite theoretical Jewish sovereignty in Jerusalem.
Since then, the waqf has excavated and built illegally, destroying archaeological evidence of a historical Jewish temple, and Israel has done nothing. Jews are permitted to go up to the Mount, but may not pray there — a Jew was arrested (by Israeli police) for trying to wave a lulav (a device woven from the ‘four species’ in observance of Sukkot) this week, and Jews have been reported by waqf officials for moving their lips.
Any Jewish activity in the area is cause for Arab riots. There is constant incitement of the Muslim population in mosques and by the Islamic Movement of Raed Saleh….Read More:http://calevbenyefuneh.blogspot.ca/2011/10/fresnozionism-four-big-israeli-mistakes.html

( see link at end) ….temples were built not for the glory of god, but for that of those who own them. temples have owners, yes, and that is not worship but idolatry. it was for the glory of the rulers, the paymasters, the clergy, all the various oppressors o the people that temples were built….their temples were built as gold and silver prisons to hold within them a captive god. a god that will remain captive for as long as it can serve their interests. but isn’t that foolish? they think they got god inside, but they only have themselves chained to the walls. what fools! only rulers, paymasters and oppressors could be such fools as to imagine that god would accept the offering of such displays of human hubris.

but to be more precise, that is not what they were really thinking about in any case. not the glory of god was their purpose. they built their temples to themselves, to their own glory and as testament to their power to rule over us. temples do not exist to worship god in them, but to worship them and the rulers through them.

we are only allowed to see the god the rulers embedded in the temples, and that’s very sad, as god is waiting outside, probably sitting on the steps, selling flowers, candy and little icons….their temples are like castles for a god who prefers to live in the wilderness of an open mountain. all spaces are equally sacred if we say thou to them. we have the power to de-secrate, and we also have the power to make holly. it is our choice….the true prophet, the true servant of god, will not build a temple to separate god from its people. certainly would not walk in, except to overturn the tables.

on those holidays centered on the temple’s worship, some of us will

mourn their demise nor celebrate their restoration. we mourn the deaths and the pain and the suffering, and wish the temple’s demise would have come not through bloodshed but through the consensual choice of the people as a whole….Read More:http://dialogicalecology.blogspot.ca/2012/07/meditations-on-temple.html

ADDENDUM:

(see link at end)…Placing these Palestinian Christian and Muslim sites on a list of “Jewish Heritage sites” is one step towards declaring them Jewish, annexing them and turning them into synagogues, similar to what had been done to the Ibrahimi Mosque where 75% of the Mosque had been turned into a synagogue. The attacks on Al-Aqsa are part of the on-going ethnic cleansing of Jerusalem and its Judaization. This includes taking over the Noble Sanctuary. Where some Zionist organizations campaign for the destruction of Al-Aqsa and building the “Third Temple” in its place, others call for taking over Al-Aqsa and transforming it into a synagogue. The latest of such campaigns started recently: A number of Zionist organizations, such as the “Temple Institute”, “The Movement to Rebuild the Holy Temple”, “The Temple Heritage Fund”, are calling for 16.03.2010 to be declared the “International Day of the Third Temple”. Such organizations have been advocating the building of “Third Temple” in the place of Al-Aqsa Mosque for decades. The reason behind choosing the 16.03.1010 is because it coincides with the planned date for the opening of the Hurva synagogue which is to become the biggest synagogue in Occupied East Jerusalem and is only some meters away from Al-Aqsa. “Al-Aqsa Foundation for Endowment and Heritage” reports that according to Jewish prophecies the building of the “Third Temple” will commence after the opening of the Hurva synagogue. This prophecy is attributed to Lithuanian Rabbi Vilna Gaon from the 18th century whose disciples came to Palestine between 1808 and 1812. These believe that the building of the Hurva synagogue will “herald the destruction of the Aqsa Mosque.” Read More:http://avoicefrompalestine.wordpress.com/2010/02/28/zionist-definition-of-religious-tolerance-if-it%E2%80%99s-not-jewish-either-we-judaize-it-or-we-destroy-it-ii/a

—erusalem, Shlomo Goren who was the army’s chief rabbi, urged the army to blow up Al-Aqsa mosque and the Dome of the Rock. This incident was reported by General Uzi Narkiss:
“The paratroopers wandered around the plaza as if in a dream. Rabbi Shlomo Goren was among them. I was alone for a moment, lost in thought, when Rabbi Goren approached me. ‘Uzi,’ Rabbi Goren said to me. ‘Now is the time to put 100 kilograms of explosives into the Mosque of Omar so that we may rid ourselves of it once and for all.’
“I said to him, ‘Rabbi, enough.’
“He said, ‘Uzi, you will go down in history if you do this.’
“I answered, ‘My name will already be written in the history books of Jerusalem.’
“But Goren persisted. ‘You don’t grasp what tremendous significance this would have. This is an opportunity that can be taken advantage of now, at this moment. Tomorrow it will be too late.’
“I said ‘Rabbi, if you don’t stop, I’ll take you to jail.’ —Read More:http://avoicefrompalestine.wordpress.com/2010/02/28/zionist-definition-of-religious-tolerance-if-it%E2%80%99s-not-jewish-either-we-judaize-it-or-we-destroy-it-ii/ image:http://www.shalomnewyork.com/israel/geirus-furor-renews-assessment-of-rabbi-gorens-psak-matzavcom/
