NEVER MIND THE BOLLOCKS HERE'S THE BLACK BLOC

God save the queen
The fascist regime
They made you a moron
Potential H-bomb

God save the queen
She ain’t no human being
There is no future
In England’s dreaming

Don’t be told what you want
Don’t be told what you need
There’s no future, no future,
No future for you

God save the queen
We mean it man
We love our queen
God saves

God save the queen
‘Cause tourists are money
And our figurehead
Is not what she seems

When there’s no future

How can there be sin

We’re the flowers in the dustbin
We’re the poison in your human machine
We’re the future, your future ( The Sex Pistols. God Save the Queen )

” the government of man by man,” wrote Proudhon, ”under whatever name it is disguised, is oppression”  President Carnot of France had been stabbed by an assassin crying ”Long live anarchy!” ; the Spanish Prime misister , Canovas, was shot as he sat reading a newspaper. The elderly but still beautiful Empress Elizabeth of Austria was stabbed with a homemade dagger as she walked by the lake at Geneva. King Umberto of Italy survived one attempt on his life only to be shot in his carriage three years later. In each case the assassin made no attempt to escape and gloried in his crime, justifying it as a legitimate political act in rhe face of an intolerably immoral and repressive society.

”This article is so embarrassing.  ( National Post )People love to glorify and grossly distort the glamour of whole black bloc thing but it’s so hyped up to the point that it’s just dumb. Also with how hip and trendy the black bloc is, way too many people, mostly the hipsters and lifestyle anarchists completely forget that the whole purpose is to conceal your identity but dressing similarly with other black bloc people. Instead what you get are people using the color black but concerned only with the fashion/sexiness/coolness of it and too often it’s really easy to differentiate between the people. I remember watching news of the Pittsburgh G20 and recognizing people, people I barely knew other than just as an almost acquaintance while they were in their black bloc, lol. Of course it’s not really surprising with lifestyle anarchists in Pittsburgh but people using the black bloc tactic in a way that it totally defeats its purpose and it’s just about feeling cool or getting anarchist cred points makes it kind of pointless” ( anarchistnews.org )

They are a collective of elusive protestors hooded and clad in head-to-toe black.  It could be called ambush marketing . The Black Bloc first came to attention at the 1999 World Trade Organization protests in Seattle; they are hardly a group as such, but   rather a fringe minority of self-described anarchists who have adopted the violent strain of the ideology in the form of property damage and direct confrontation, or ”direct action”  and can qualify to fall under the category of ”terrorist” organization, since and ideological veneer is used to justify criminal activity.

”The Black Bloc has gained alot of publicity in the past two years. What people dont understand is that the Black Bloc is not an organization or a group. It is a tactic. It helps reinforce security and execute our goal in the presence of high-profile demonstrations. From Seattle WTO to the most recent action in Genoa, the Black Bloc has certainly been the main focus by the media and the police in major demonstrations. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce newer and better tactics into the struggle. Be creative. Build off the info on this site and never give up.”

The second, and much larger group, has a core of legitimate activists suffocated by a larger group who have a dim understanding and attachment to anarchism, belong to ”Adbusters” and are principally interested in the aesthetic of the black bloc; some thing like a right of passage in the cult of gauchiste chic. Luxury class Bohemianism. Designer label dissent.

Paul Joseph Watson ''The British authorities seemed to have little problem with allowing a group of violent black bloc anarchists smash up the RBS building while provoking police yesterday, despite the group announcing their target in advance, yet a legitimate anti-poverty organization has had its “accreditation” to protest at the G20 removed on the orders of Downing Street. This once again underscores the completely undemocratic power of the government to decide who is allowed to protest against them and who is not. When you have to get permission from the government to exercise a God-given right, as in China or Russia, then we know we are already living in a police state. The freedom to protest is not one that has to be “accredited” by the state, a license to protest as it were, it is an innate human right.'' prison planet. com

”The two groups had a cynical, symbiotic relationship. The violent anarchists relied on the legitimate protesters for the conceit that they were acting in the service of some political agenda more respectable than mere hooliganism. And the legitimate protesters enjoyed the romantic frisson that attends street violence, without actually picking up a brick or lead pipe. Some of them even ended up getting tear-gassed — a great war-story for everyone back on campus.

After 9/11, most of the Black Bloc folks hung up their gas masks: The risk of getting treated as real terrorists by a ramped up security state outweighed the thrills to be had. But it must also be said that conference organizers became more intelligent at the game of divide-and-conquer, setting up free-speech zones where only those protesters interested in actual speech would show up to make their point.” ( Jonathan Kay )

What is the relevance of the politics of anarchism today? The wave of assassinations was merely the most dramatic aspect of anarchism in the nineteenth century. It was a philosophical creed, a dream of a new future for human society, expounded by men who were often scholars and gentlemen; very different from the desperate, impoverished, and usually uneducated young men whom their words sometimes drove to violence. Anarchism, in the intensity of its repudiation of existing society and its rejection of the more limited and purposeful attempts to change it, has always had a certain affinity with blind destructiveness, but that was not originally seen as its essence. And though political assassination potential exists, the chief relevance of anarchism today lies more in the repetition , conscious or not, of anarchist doctrines and slogans by the New New Left and those who espouse a different kind of violence in their rejection of consensus politics.

”How many times do we have to go over this. Every business, not matter what size, is a legit target in the war on capitalism….That’s pretty fucked up. We might as well start attacking people that pay taxes. OH BOSTON MARKET HOW YOU OPPRESS ME! Please. Grow the fuck up. Sincerely, an anarchist…The difference is that everyone pays taxes. Only the bourgeoisie and petty bourgeoisie own businesses. Trying to make alliances with petty bourgeois small business people is a populist cop out. ( anarchistnews.org )

I carried my black bloc stuff with me, and I did indeed wear all black, but I didn't mask up, mainly for practical reasons. It was really hot outside for one, and secondly, with allergy season in full swing, I didn't want something potentially trapping pollen so close to my face. Not a good idea. Thus this time around, I got a regular sunburn, and not what I would describe as a "black bloc tan". You can also tell on my arms that I was wearing long sleeves that were rolled up because of how the sunburn looks.''

”My best Greek anarchist friend, who has been rioting for 10+ years, is a small business owner. He employs mostly other anarchists, and provides them more pay and a more slack atmosphere than they would get anywhere else. Your understanding of capitalism is simplistic… disturbingly so….It is simple. A revolution is the total expropriation of the means of production by those who hitherto have had no control of the means of production. Whether the owner in question employs (that is to say exploits) 2 people or 200 000 people is inconsequential.” ( anarchistnews.com )

The use of violence not so much for limited ends but as a form of propaganda, the repudiation of all centralized social organization as a denial of human freedom and spontaneity, the rejection of party hierarchies, left as well as right, are themes that bring the New Left far closer to the doctrines  of nineteenth-century anarchism than to orthodox Marxism; an abolishment of the meritocracy and proposals for a voluntary federation of self-governing enterprises. The enemy is ”the system” . Anarchism, which at the beginning of the twentieth century was a dead political creed, an impossible idealism sometimes degenerating into a squalid absurdity, spurned by liberals, fascists and communists alike, is emphatically alive again under the umbrella of liberalized trade, globalization,  and various conspiracy theories; misconceptions, partial understandings, and incoherencies regarding the New World Order.

”It’s petit bourgeois, but I’m being petty. The explanatory power of Marxist theory is pretty significant, but its prescriptive (proscriptive?) theory is sadly deficient because it’s wholly oblivious to the problems with investing the party/state with all political and economic power in the hope that one day it’s going to wither and die and the workers will inherit the earth. I wouldn’t say it’s a lie; it’s simply naive.Instead of smashing shit, I think it would be very helpful to further the development of dual power institutions – capitalist, collective, cooperative, whatever – as models of cooperative- and self-governance outside of – to the extent possible – the global-capitalist-debt-and-extraction model. This is praxis, as opposed to messianic pie-in-the-sky worker’s paradise that’ll somehow come if I throw this rock.” (Anarchistnews.org )

* Loves cheap booze.
* Sometimes addicted to heroin.
* Loves sprange and lives off it.
* One parent might bail them out if they get arrested.
* Contributes nothing to the community but believes they are through committing petty acts of vandalism.
* Are 99.99999999979999% Caucasian.
* Disposable, doesn’t mind doing time in jail or prison.
* Will rip you off if you turn your back for a moment.
* Easily to recruitment if you promise warm meals, an ok place to sleep, and a party attitude!.

What? You’ve got a warped perception, don’t know where you’ve been hanging out.

1. not true? if only because they’ve been moving around in black clothing
2. probably because it’s cheap not because it’s good
3. hardly true. do you even know anyone addicted to heroin?
4. also not true. few love too spange- and few anarchists do? who are these people?
5. also not true, otherwise fundraising wouldn’t be such a burden
6. you are a reformist?
7. being 99 percent white doesn’t mean it’s invalid
8. not true. does mind spending time in jail-as most people do.
9. also not true. on what basis?
10. also not true. perhaps if they’re traveling to the summit but not going to the summit because there’s food? pretty arbitrary” ( Anarchistnews.com)

The anarchist notoriously has two contrasting images. On the one hand a secular saint like Tolstoy; benign, outworldly and possibly mad, but mad in the manner of a Holy Fool. An anti-materialist ascetic and a believer in the simple life. There is a repugnance to the state’s machinery of coercion. Such is the type of the Englishman William Godwin, whose passion for individual independence was so great that he felt men betrayed it by collaborating in an orchestra to play other men’s compositions; the type of Thoreau, Gandhi and Prince Kropotkin. Their is a common refusal to compromise and a rejection of an ordinary easy-going acceptance of the world as it is. Stern and  puritan moralists that demand humanity should wipe the slate clean and start over.

”I’m with the people saying “don’t feed the troll” but the original poster of the list actually got it pretty spot on. Most people suck. And the righteous suck the most…. so you curt kobain wanna-bees do not mind recruiting criminals to support your causes? have you ever questioned your ethics?…So far the anarchists are the only ones so far willing to rebel against the system. I’m waiting to see others engage in some kind of direct actions against the banking system and police state that help to facilitate their social order.”

''Stage-managed? Press photographers outnumber anarchists as the RBS siege is perfectly “produced” for a live television audience. Cue a relatively small gaggle of black-bloc anarchists, followed by an similarly sized press corps to photograph every angle of every smashed window, and you have the makings of a stage-managed event to instantly be consumed by the watching middle classes thus enlisting their support for a police state crackdown. In this instance, the police stood back and let them do pretty much whatever they liked, which is highly suspicious within itself, but the week is far from over and a wider crackdown could ensue now that public acquiescence has been garnered through repeated footage showing the hostility of the anarchists.'' Paul Joseph Watson

”Then after the Anonymous protest was over, Jeff and I headed back to Dupont Circle, where the “Really Really Free Market” was going on. That was sponsored by the Really Really Free Market Collective. In other words, my anarchist friends were putting this one on. Yay! Meanwhile, on the way to Dupont Circle, Jeff and I unmasked. After all, this was a community-type event, and not a protest situation, so black bloc and the related masks and such would be unnecessary. For me, that meant undoing the green bandanna that I’d been wearing, removing the hat that I wear with that outfit, and fluffing up my hair. All set!

We saw all of our anarchist friends When we got to Dupont Circle. Olga was there, as were a number of others. And the stuff for the Really Really Free Market was all laid out on a tarp. Basically, the idea was that you can take what you want at no cost, and you can also donate things that you think other people might want. There were books, CDs, movies, clothes, shoes, you name it. I even saw Dis Moi!, the first-year French textbook by Scott, Foresman from back when I was in school. ( www.schuminweb.com )

…The other side of the picture is the anarchist as assassin. The type that was theatrically bearded and wore a floppy hat; lurking in the dark corner of the imagination with Dracula and Fu Manchu. But the anarchist terrorist like Alexander Berkman was a real enough menace, and so were his bombs. The profile is self-consciously doomed and in their own mind an avenging angel of death visiting an utterly corrupt society. The bourgeois morality had no meaning for him, and often went to their execution with what came to be a ritual cry: ”Long live anarchy! Long live destruction!” Such men found in the anarchist notion of ” the propaganda of the deed” the chance for one final action that would give meaning to their lives.

”Why are the authorities so keen on stifling peaceful protesters while giving free reign to people who dress up like terrorists, attack buildings and provoke cops? Whose interests do the violent actions of the black bloc benefit? The interests of the general public in using free speech as a means of political change? Or the interests of the authorities in providing the perfect pretext with which to crush and outlaw that free speech?

You can’t overthrow the entire system by smashing one bank and starting a bonfire. Real political change takes generations of struggle, decades of building respected educational platforms, and a gargantuan grass-roots movement focused on taking power on the local level and expanding upwards. Throwing a brick through a window isn’t going to achieve anything other than making the vast majority of the general public despise you even more, and support the very systems of power that you are supposedly opposing.”…

We have documented numerous different occasions where the leadership of the black bloc anarchists were actually working with the authorities to provide a pretext for a police state crackdown.

Following the SPP protests in Canada two years ago, Quebec provincial authorities were forced to admit that three rock-wielding black mask-wearing “anarchists” were in fact police infiltrators used to gather information on protesters.

''A union leader called out a group of "black bloc anarchists" who were picking up rocks. The real black bloc protesters were shouting "POLICIER! POLICIER", the would-be-rock throwers got up and cozy with the cops in the hats and bats, and quickly got themselves "arrested" (and treated very gently by the police I might add." Turns out they were wearing the same brand of boot that the riot cops were wearing.''
