black panther

by Jesse Marinoff Reyes ( Jesse Marinoff Reyes Design ): MLK 2012 Cover of the Day : The final entry for my abbreviated day—the first issue of Jack Kirby’s The Black Panther. The Panther was the first black superhero in mainstream comics, making his debut in The Fantastic Four in 1966. It took another decade for the Panther to be featured in his own comic, however short-lived (he’d also been a featured character in the super-team book, The Avengers).
